“I am writing to let you know of the changes we have seen in
our children since beginning [The Forever Healthy Diet]. Our
three children, ages 2, 4 and 5 are in the study but our whole
family, including 2 other children, is participating and everyone
is seeing improvements!
Some of the improvements we are seeing with our children are
that our 2 year old has had some formed bowel movements for
the first time ever, he is talking more thoughtfully and has expressed
novel ideas for the first time ever (he warned us of a hot stove
burner), he is adding 1-3 new words per week, is making twice
as many attempts to verbally communicate, his tantruming
has reduced by 30 – 50%, he is less aggressive and he is happier.
Our 4 year old is using the potty more successfully,
we've noticed cognitive and focusing improvements (he is counting
some now and is making more eye contact), he is much more
redirectable, he is happier, and for a while he was eating enough
for two adults so we feel he is able to finally absorb nutrients
and is finally getting his body fed. His calf muscles are defined
finally, and his hair is softer (less like straw).
Our 5 year old is now getting dressed by himself and has put
on his socks for the first time ever, he is cuddling so sweetly;
so much so that my husband was late taking the kids to school so
he could cuddle with him, his school has reported that he
is so much happier and his behavior is much improved. Both
he and his brother are now swallowing their supplements with water
rather than having them opened and put in applesauce. His
sensory issues seem to be calming down some too. During 6 months
of pool therapy he never put his face in the water past
his mouth, but now he is spending a large part of his pool sessions
underwater! Also, he is now able to count to twelve, and
to say his ABC’s - neither of which he was able to do three weeks
ago. Is it the diet or coincidence? I think there are
too many changes in too short of a time for it not to be related
to the diet.
Our 8 year old with Autism and our 9 year old with Aspergers
were not a part of the official study, but we made them part of
our own study with our younger children. We knew we could get
more verbal feedback from them rather than relying only on
observation.
Our 8 year old is the biggest reason we will continue on with
this diet. A week into the diet I looked back at her in the
car and she was smiling!! It was such a shock I kept peeking
back to see her smile! She is starting to laugh and dance, to
become excited about things, and doesn’t seem so perpetually sad. She
has made other gains socially. She actually offered her hand
to two people in church; we had been working on that for a year
and this was her first time! She has made cognitive gains
as well, such as the concept of subtraction. Regrouping
has stumped her for a year, and this week she did a page with 16/19
correct! Her ability to coordinate her movements has also
improved. She is jumping rope! She is also paying
attention to animals for the first time ever.
Our 9 year old has made gains as well. He is showing
more social awareness, is throwing fewer temper tantrums, and has
improved overall.
This diet takes patience, determination and time but it is well
worth a trial. We advise parents of autistic children
to just try this diet 100% for 10 days and see what happens!
Even though we lost a few days at the beginning, as my children
were ill, we still noticed big improvements in our children by
the 8th day of being on The Diet. These improvements are
dramatic and we feel they are directly related to having them on
[The Forever Healthy Diet].
We cannot wait to see what else happens as time goes on and the
children continue to heal.”
